-           Originally a 3rd round (81st pick overall) draft choice by the Giants in 2007.

GIANTS NOTE:

-           Alford joined Aaron Ross, Steve Smith, Zak DeOssie, Kevin Boss, Michael Johnson, Adam Koets and Ahmad Bradshaw as 2007 Giants draft choices who contributed in the rookie season.
-           Made a huge play late in the Super Bowl when he sacked New England quarterback Tom Brady for a 10-yard loss with 19 seconds remaining.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

-           As a rookie in 2007, Alford played in all 16 regular season games and all 4 postseason games…Was the short snapper for field goals and extra points all season…Finished with 8 tackles (1 solo), 1 sack, 5 QB hurries and 2 QB hits…In the postseason, he contributed 7 tackles (3 solo) and 1 sack.
-           Made his NFL debut with 2 solo tackles at Dallas (9/9).
-           Recorded his 1st career sack when he dropped Donovan McNabb for a 1-yard loss in the 4th quarter at Philadelphia (12/9).
-           Finished with 2 tackles (1 solo) and 1 QB hurry in the NFC Championship Game at Green Bay (1/20)…Made a perfect snap for Lawrence Tynes’ game-winning 47-yard field goal in overtime.
-           Saw action as the short snapper and at defensive tackle in Super Bowl XXLII vs. New England (2/3)…Finished with 2 solo tackles, 1 sack and 1 QB hurry…Sacked Tom Brady for a 10-yard loss on the Patriots’ 2nd play of their final drive.
