-           Originally signed as a rookie free agent by the Giants on June 21, 2005.

GIANTS NOTE:
   
-           Made the Giants 53-man roster out of training camp as a rookie free agent and has since been one of the team’s most consistent contributors on special teams…Led the team in special teams tackles in each of the previous 3 seasons (tied with Reggie Torbor in 2006).

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

-         Has played in 47 regular season games with 2 starts and in 5 postseason games…Career totals include 24 tackles (14 solo), an interception he returned 32 yards for a touchdown, 2 fumble recoveries and 53 special teams tackles…In the postseason, Blackburn has 5 tackles (4 solo) and 5 special teams tackles.
-           In 2007, played in all 16 regular season games and 4 postseason contests…Finished the season with a team-high 17 special tackles…Saw action on defense at middle linebacker in games vs. San Francisco (10/21), vs. Minnesota (11/25) and at Buffalo (12/23)…Recorded 6 tackles (1 solo).
-           In 2006, played in 16 regular season games and the NFC Wild Card Game…Majority of play came on special teams…Saw some reserve action at linebacker…Tied with Torbor for the team lead with 14 special teams tackles.
-           Recorded 5 tackles (4 solo) and a sack for an 8-yard loss as the nickel linebacker in his 1st career postseason action at Philadelphia in the NFC Wild Card game (1/7).
-           Had a season-high 3 special teams tackles vs. Washington (10/8).
-           As a rookie in 2005, played in 15 games with 2 starts…Led the Giants with a career-high 22 special teams tackles.
-           Started 2 games at middle linebacker after Antonio Pierce suffered a season-ending ankle injury.
-           Recovered a fumble on the game's opening kickoff to set up Brandon Jacobs’ 1-yard touchdown run at New Orleans (9/19).
-           Played for the 1st time on defense at San Francisco (11/6) when he replaced an injured Nick Greisen for a few plays early in the 3rd quarter.
-           Made 1st NFL start vs. Kansas City (12/17) after Carlos Emmons was a late inactive due to a pec injury. Blackburn finished with 9 tackles (3 solo).
-           Started at middle linebacker at Washington (12/24) and recorded 6 tackles (3 solo) and an interception that he returned for a 32-yard touchdown. Picked off a Mark Brunell pass for James Thrash and ran up the left sideline for his first pro score. He also had 1 special teams tackle…Left the game in the 3rd quarter with a neck strain that ended his season and forced him to go on injured reserve.
