PFF discusses Malik Nabers' ceiling

Malik Nabers got his NFL career off to a historic start last season.

The 21-year-old wide receiver set a new franchise record with 109 receptions in his first season with the Giants. According to Pro Football Focus, Nabers could be in for an even stronger season in 2025.

PFF's Dalton Wasserman recently compiled a list of players who "have a chance to become the best at their position in 2025." The list consists of some big names, such as Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, Falcons running back Bijan Robinson and Raiders tight end Brock Bowers.

When it came to the wide receiver position, PFF went with the Giants' star wideout, due in part to the additions of Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, and Jaxson Dart to the quarterback room.

"Nabers has every bit the potential of his LSU predecessors, Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson..." Wasserman wrote. "Wilson's deep ball remains one of the most effective in the league, as his 97.3 deep passing grade led all quarterbacks in 2024. And if rookie Jaxson Dart sees the field at any point, he brings a vertical mindset from his time at Ole Miss.

"With improved quarterback play, Nabers' downfield potential should be fully unlocked in 2025, giving him a real shot to build on an already impressive start to his career."

In addition to setting a new franchise single-season reception record, Nabers also topped Puka Nacua's mark for the most catches by a rookie receiver, which the Rams' wideout set in 2023 with 106. This ranked fifth overall in the NFL and third among wide receivers.

Nabers registered 14 games with five or more catches, another rookie record, which helped him finish with 1,204 receiving yards, which ranked seventh in the league.

As if all of that wasn't enough, he also led all rookie receivers in targets (165), yards after contact (256), first downs (55) and missed tackles forced (19), according to PFF.
