Despite rallying for 24 points in the fourth quarter, the New York Giants fell to the Philadelphia Eagles, 27-24, after Jake Elliott made a 61-yard field goal as time expired at Lincoln Financial Field. The Giants are now 0-3 to start the season while the Eagles improved to 2-1.

The Giants hit the road again for a Week 4 meeting with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who fell to 1-1 on Sunday with 34-17 loss to the Vikings. Big Blue looks to extend a five-game winning streak over the NFC South foes. In their most recent matchup, the Giants defeated the Bucs, 32-18, at Raymond James Stadium in 2015.
WHAT WE LEARNED ON OFFENSE
• The Giants again shuffled their offensive line with right tackle Bobby Hart dealing with an ankle injury. Justin Pugh started in his place while Brett Jones played left guard, the same as when Hart left midway through the first series in the Monday night game against Detroit.
• The Giants avoided their third consecutive game with a three-and-out on the opening drive, managing to move the chains and win the field position game early on. However, they failed to come away with points in the first three quarters. Their best opportunity came on a goal line series at the end of the first half when a Sterling Shepard touchdown was reversed. The referees spotted the ball an inch short of the goal line, but the Giants couldn't punch it in. Shepard failed to hold onto a catch in the end zone on the next play, and on fourth down, Orleans Darkwa was tackled for a loss.
• The offense finally found the end zone on a 10-yard pass from Eli Manning to wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. with 12:39 left in the game. They hooked up again for a second touchdown to tie it up after the defense forced a turnover on the ensuing drive. Beckham, playing in his second game back from a preseason ankle injury, finished with nine receptions passes for 79 yards and the two scores. In the process, he became the fastest player in NFL history to 300 receptions, doing so in his 45th game.
• Sterling Shepard did his Beckham impression and turned a short pass into a 77-yard touchdown to give the Giants the lead with 7:12 left in the game.
• Overcoming two interceptions, Manning finished 33 of 45 for 349 yards with three touchdowns while breaking a sixth-place tie with John Elway (4,123) on the NFL career completion list. Next up: No. 5 Dan Marino (4,967).
• The Giants ended their streak of eight consecutive games without scoring 20 points.
WHAT WE LEARNED ON DEFENSE
• The Giants missed two of their defensive starters last week, but they got one back this Sunday: Pro Bowl cornerback Janoris Jenkins, who had been dealing with an ankle injury. However, middle linebacker B.J. Goodson (shin) has not played since leading the NFL with 18 tackles in the season opener. Undrafted rookie Calvin Munson started in his place again.
• Defensive end Olivier Vernon sacked Carson Wentz on the first play of the game. Defensive tackle Jay Bromley and linebacker Devon Kennard also got in on the action as the Giants finished with three sacks.
• The Giants allowed more than 120 rushing yards just once all of last season. So far, they have done so three times in three games this year. Dallas churned out 129 in the opener, Detroit had 138, and Philadelphia racked up 193.
• The Eagles broke the game open late in the third quarter after cornerback Eli Apple was called for passing interference. The 41-yard penalty set up a first-and-goal, and two plays later, Wentz hit tight end Zach Ertz for a touchdown and a 14-0 lead with 5:15 left in the third quarter.
• After the Giants cut it to a one-possession game in the fourth quarter, safety Landon Collins forced a fumble on the ensuing drive, and cornerback Eli Apple recovered the football. The offense turned it into a touchdown to tie the game with 10:53 to play.
WHAT WE LEARNED ON SPECIAL TEAMS
• In his biggest test yet, Aldrick Rosas made a 41-yard field goal to give the Giants a 24-21 lead with 3:08 to play. But it would be the Eagles kicker who made the game-winner.
