Count Damon Harrison among those looking foward to seeing Eli Manning throw to Brandon Marshall in 2017:

When Damon Harrison isn't around, Eli Manning and Brandon Marshall resort to video chats.

With training camp three weeks away and counting, Marshall, who is embarking on his 12th NFL season, posted a video of he and Manning going over the offense. Sitting at a table with his notebook and pen, Marshall wrapped up the call by telling Manning that he would like to get in one or two more sessions before seeing each other in person again at camp, which opens July 27 (the first practice is the next day).

This endless pursuit of football know-how is a major reason why Marshall enters the season 59 catches away from 1,000 for his career and has already surpassed the 12,000-yard marker. Furthermore, it's why he's been able to perform at such a high level with so many different teams.

The Giants, who signed Marshall this past March, mark his fifth organization. In previous swaps, Marshall posted 1,000 yards in his first year with his new team, most recently with the Jets, where he was teammates with Harrison. A year ago, Harrison was in Marshall's shoes. The defensive tackle adjusted his commute to East Rutherford instead of Florham Park, and the former Jet earned first-team All-Pro honors in his first season as a Giant.

So it was only natural that Harrison was the go-between when Manning found out that Marshall would be joining the Giants.

"It's not surprising at all [that they video chatted]," Harrison said on "Good Morning Football" on NFL Network. "Between those two guys, they are very detailed. Eli, the moment we signed Brandon and we went back into work, Eli was in my ear asking me everything about Brandon. And when Brandon got here, I was able to be at the facility his first day, and he was asking everything about [Eli]. I worked with both, and I told them they're going to get tired of each other just picking each other's brains all the time."

That won't be happening anytime soon.

Manning can't wait to see what Marshall brings to the offense on game days. In the meantime, Harrison, who overlapped with Marshall and the Jets for one season in 2015, knows exactly what the Giants are getting. The No. 1 thing, Harrison said, is leadership. He referenced a game against the Browns to tell you everything you need to know about Marshall.

"We threw an interception at the time, and Brandon fell on the ground and took the ball from the guy and ran [toward] the opposite end zone, which was amazing," Harrison said. "So Brandon is a physical red-zone threat. He'll make Eli better. He'll make Odell [Beckham Jr.], Sterling [Shepard], and the rookie [Evan] Engram better, as well as help the running game because you can't double Odell anymore. You can't."
