EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Odell Beckham, Jr. broke an NFL record Sunday, but it doesn't belong to him today.

The Giants' sensational wide receiver caught 10 passes in the Giants' 24-14 loss to the Steelers in Pittsburgh. That increased his career total to 262 receptions, breaking A.J. Green's previous record of 260 (set from 2011-13) for the highest total in the first three seasons of a player's career.
But Beckham was not alone in surpassing Green. Miami's Jarvis Landry – Beckham's former LSU teammate and perhaps his closest friend – had 11 catches in the Dolphins' loss in Baltimore. That increased his three-year total to 269 receptions, pushing Green back to third place.
Beckham and Landry each have four games remaining. But only Beckham can also set the yardage record. He currently stands at 3,770, or 393 behind Randy Moss' mark of 4,163. Beckham must average more than 98 yards per game to move past Moss, a difficult but not impossible task. Beckham is currently averaging 84.6 yards a game. Landry is more than 1,000 yards behind Beckham at 2,735 yards.
Beckham did not score in Pittsburgh, so his career total remains at 33 touchdowns. Moss' three-year record is 43, so Beckham must average 2.5 scores a game to tie him.
• Beckham has played in 39 games. He needs 230 yards in the next two games to stand alone as the fastest in history to 4,000 yards. Hall of Famer Lance Alworth did it in 42 games.
• Beckham's 100 receiving yards in Pittsburgh increased his season total to 1,015. It was the 24th 1000-yard season in Giants history. Beckham is tied with two others for the second-most seasons with 1,000 receiving yards:

• The 100-yard game was the 18th of Beckham's career, tying him with Cruz for the second-highest total in Giants history, behind Toomer's 22. The Giants are 7-11 when Beckham has at least 100 receiving yards. They are 10-8 when Cruz reaches that total.
• The Giants host the Dallas Cowboys Sunday night. In 24 regular-season games against Dallas, Eli Manning has thrown 806 passes and completed 491 for 6,033 yards and 47 touchdowns. They are all the highest totals in history by an opponent against the Cowboys.
• Manning has thrown 6,679 career passes and needs 23 to pass Vinny Testaverde (6,701) and move into ninth place on the NFL's career list.
• Manning has 3,980 completions and trails Pro Football Hall of Famer Warren Moon by eight. He needs 20 completions to become the seventh player in history with 4,000.
• Defensive end Olivier Vernon has at least one sack in each of the Giants' last five games. No Giants player has had a streak that long since … last season, when Robert Ayers had at least one sack in each of the last five games. Vernon has 8.0 sacks in his streak, Ayers had 7.5 in his.
• Vernon's five-game streak is currently the NFL's second-longest. Oakland's Khalil Mack has a seven-game streak.
• The last Giants player to get a sack in six straight games was Hall of Famer Michael Strahan from Oct. 5-Nov. 9, 2003.
• Vernon has 8.0 sacks and needs two more to become the first Giants player with at least 10 in his first season with the team.
• Rookie cornerback Eli Apple had his first career interception and fumble recovery in Pittsburgh. He was the first Giants player with a pick and recovery in the same game since defensive Kerry Wynn did it in St. Louis on Dec. 21, 2014.
• Safety Landon Collins, who leads the team with 94 tackles, is the only player in the NFL with at least three sacks (3.0) and three interceptions (five).
