NFL Draft experts give their latest predictions on the Giants' 2017 first round Pick:

The annual NFL Scouting Combine just wrapped up in Indianapolis, where more than 300 prospects worked out and were placed under the microscope by all 32 teams.

As a result, the next wave of mock drafts are starting to trickle in, and Matt Miller of Bleacher Report picked an intriguing prospect for the New York Giants at No. 23: Michigan safety Jabrill Peppers.

Peppers, who attended Paramus Catholic High School in New Jersey, was ESPN's No. 2 recruit in the nation in 2014, trailing only running back Leonard Fournette, another top prospect in this year's draft out of LSU. Peppers went on to a notable career for the Wolverines, winning the 2016 Paul Hornung Award as the nation's most versatile player and placing fifth in the Heisman Trophy balloting. 

At the combine, Peppers ran the 40-yard dash in 4.46 seconds, did 19 reps in the bench press, and had a vertical jump of 35.5 inches and broad jump of 128 inches. Measuring 5-foot-11 and 213 pounds, he participated in both the defensive back and linebacker drills at Lucas Oil Stadium.

"Peppers isn't your everyday safety or nickel linebacker prospect, but he's somewhere in between the two and is already a top-tier returner," Miller wrote. "If in 2017 he can play as a punt returner and a sub-package third safety or linebacker, he's giving you a solid return on investment. And in 2018, you can ideally pair him with Landon Collins and have one of the most impressive safety duos in the NFL. This is not a pick backed on need, but on value and impact."

**Analysis:** "Bolles is a polarizing prospect throughout the league. After taking some time off from the game, he rediscovered his love for the game, showing NFL-level athleticism, but needs strength and technique work."

Rob Rang, The Sports Xchange (3/7)
Pick: Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford
**Analysis:** "McCaffrey isn't a bruiser but his instincts, shiftiness and soft hands out of the backfield could make him an intriguing weapon for Big Blue."

Emily Kaplan, MMQB (3/7)
Pick: O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama
**Analysis:** "I get the feeling the Giants would like to draft a quarterback to eventually replace Eli Manning, but this is not the year—or rather, this is not the round. Instead, New York's front office will decide to maximize the last of the Manning years by giving him a go-to tight end. Howard is every bit as polished and impressive as advertised."

Pick: Haason Reddick, OLB, Temple
Analysis:"He is a player who would help upgrade the weak part of their defense. He has played with his hand on the ground, but projects to a linebacker spot in the NFL."

Pick: Malik McDowell, DT, Michigan State
**Analysis:** "Holding onto Jason Pierre-Paul was a huge first step to keeping the defensive front together. Now they can add another piece."

Bucky Brooks, NFL.com (3/1)
Pick: Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson
**Analysis:** "Ben McAdoo's quick-rhythm passing game is ideally suited to Watson's game. With Eli Manning still a few years away from calling it quits, the Giants could patiently develop the Clemson standout until he is ready for the lead role."
