Free agency helped the Giants get back on track in 2016, and another go-around might push them over the top this season.

As the calendar turns to April and the attention shifts from free agency to the draft, media outlets have released a new batch of power rankings. The Giants, who last year notched their highest win total since 2008 and made the postseason for the first time since Super Bowl XLVI, are a unanimous top-10 pick.
Here's a look at where they stack up three weeks into free agency and a month from the draft:
NYG: 5
NFC East: No. 5 Giants, No. 7 Cowboys, No. 15 Redskins, No. 19 Eagles
NFL Top 5: Patriots, Falcons, Steelers, Raiders, Giants
Comments: "If D.J. Fluker pans out, Big Blue might be the favorite coming out of the NFC." -- Elliot Harrison
NYG: 7
NFC East: No. 7 Giants, No. 8 Cowboys, No. 19 Redskins, No. 25 Eagles
NFL Top 5: Patriots, Falcons, Packers, Steelers, Raiders
Comments: "It was a solid move adding Brandon Marshall to the passing game, but they have to add some help on the offensive line." – Pete Prisco
NYG: 8
NFC East: No. 4 Cowboys, No. 8 Giants, No. 18 Redskins, No. 25 Eagles
NFL Top 5: Patriots, Falcons, Steelers, Cowboys, Seahawks
Comments: "The Giants, simply by adding Brandon Marshall, got substantially better on offense. The line is still a concern, but Marshall gives Eli Manning a big possession receiver opposite Odell Beckham Jr., as well as a much-needed red zone weapon. If Paul Perkins can prove to be a three-down back and Ereck Flowers improves at left tackle, the Giants will be in great shape." -- Cameron DaSilva
NYG: 9
NFC East: No. 4 Cowboys, No. 9 Giants, No. 20 Redskins, No. 21 Eagles
NFL Top 5: Patriots, Falcons, Packers, Cowboys, Steelers
Comments: "Adding Brandon Marshall to a unit that includes Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard could be an embarrassment of riches -- assuming Marshall can recapture some of his Pro Bowl form." – ESPN Stats & Information
